No one else can know how it feels to lose a piece of your heart…

your precious pet…

Welcome to a self-guided pet loss support program brought to you by Animal Requiem and Claire Chew

MODERN PETLOSS

It can feel like you’ll never recover from this loss… But what if… What if the loss of your pet could make you stronger? More at peace? I know that feels like a HUGE stretch right now.

But I promise.

It can.

What if there were powerful lessons that you could integrate into your life through the loss of your pet?

What if you could maintain a powerful connection with them even though they aren’t here in the physical sense?

What if true healing and inner peace could be yours?

Hi there, I’m Claire Chew. I’m a Pet Loss Educator, Life Transitions Coach and I have been down the same road you’re on now.

These days, helping others heal from pet loss is my passion. I work with clients all over the world via Skype, and I travel cross country to speak on behalf of all of our beloved animals. I have made it my mission to shift our collective mindset around pet loss.

I created a line of products and support tools after the loss of my beloved dog, Sophie over 15 years ago.

The products have sold in countries all over the world.

I received a masters degree in Spiritual Psychology (inspired by Sophie!), along with other certifications in grief and loss. Sophie inspired me to teach.

Our message about pets and pet loss has been featured in...

More than successful products, I began to talk to people I met about pet loss and a common theme emerged.

I spoke to people everyday, people just like you and me.

Everyday people who wanted the same thing:

To make sense of this deep loss we feel after losing a beloved pet.

With understanding comes healing.

I created this program to give you the support I wish I had when I was first grieving the loss of my pet.

You would spend every penny you have if your animal loved ones were suffering and there was something that could relieve their pain. It’s time to make a small but critical investment in you grief recovery now.

Healing Hearts and Paws is a survival guide for those who are grieving over the loss of an animal companion. Filled with daily meditations, lessons, practical tips and coping strategies for moving through loss, this course will help many pet lovers transform their grief into one of healing. Having experienced Claire’s grief coaching when she helped us through the loss of our dog, I recommend this to anyone who would like to heal from the loss of a beloved pet. Whether it’s been a month or a year since the loss, the series of 27 lessons is timeless, encouraging the reader to revisit topics for healing when they are missing their animal companion. —Craig Rexford | Pet Business Magazine Editor—

As soon as I read the very first email, I knew that Claire had such a COMPASSIONATE understanding of pet loss. It was very clear that Claire has experienced pet loss on a personal level. The course was a daily reminder that what I was feeling was NORMAL. There was a beautiful caring feel to the emails filled with compassion, love, understanding, and most of all – a desire to help ease the pain I was feeling. I loved having the option of reading or listening to the audio. This is a wonderfully gentle and affordable way to journey through pet loss in the comfort of your own home. —Andrea Bryant | New Zealand—

What others are saying

Having go through the tragic loss of my first pets (a dog and a cat) within a year of each other, I can say that Claire’s loving guidance and guided suggestions helped me through it. Frasier was old, so I had time to prepare, but when Betty, my cat, died at the age of 7, I was broken and inconsolable. I’m so grateful for Claire’s course. It helped me walk through the muddy waters of grief. —Suzana Palaic | New York—

WELCOME TO HEALING HEARTS AND PAWS:

A SELF-GUIDED PET LOSS SUPPORT PROGRAM

I created this series for all of the pet lovers who have called me over the years seeking pet loss support. For some, the heartache they were feeling was new. For others, it had been years, and they were still missing their beloved pet. The number one challenge I heard from grieving pet owners was how to cope with the pain they felt. They had the desire to move through the pain but didn’t know how.

Some grieving pet owners shared that they wished there was a pet loss support group in their area. Others were unable to get help for themselves due to the mountain of debt they were trying to pay off in the form of veterinary bills that accumulated while trying to save their pet. And there were those who were too foggy to decipher where they even were in their grief process.

I’ve taken some of the most successful tools I use in my life transition coaching practice and translated them into a practical journey of discovery for pet lovers experiencing loss. I wanted to create something that was practical and cost effective.

COURSE DETAILS

Once you register, you will receive instructions via email for accessing each of the four modules. Each lesson begins with it a daily thought/affirmation. The affirmation is followed by a topic of the day that honors the love you have for your pet. There will be an inspired action step following each topic so you know exactly what actions to take on your healing journey.

Audio Recordings

Each section has written instructions as well as an audio guide for meditations so you can use whichever way is better suited to your personal learning style. The audio link will be located at the bottom with the written lesson.

Lifetime Access

You have lifetime access to the course for as long as it is offered. Extensive studies show that it takes 21 days for the brain to create new habits. This series is meant to be as organic and spontaneous as your love for your pet. This is a self-paced course.

Lessons are delivered via 4 modules.

Module 1: Healing with an open heart

You’re here because you’ve experienced a devastating loss.

We take a holistic approach to loss, including addressing the way it affects you physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. It’s about missing the unconditional love, compassion, and complete acceptance we got from our pets that we might not have from our humans. In this module, we will help you to begin to fill the hole left in your heart by the loss of your beloved companion. These lessons will help you reconnect with that love you shared and begin giving some love back to yourself.

Module 2: Your Pet’s Wisdom –Learn to give back to yourself what you were giving to your pet.

Our pets live in the moment and don’t have an agenda of how they should be in the world. They don’t make a schedule for when to eat, sleep, play and love. In our grief, we can learn to be ourselves again while we move through the paint. This module is about throwing out the agenda around grief and society’s expectations of how you should behave when your heart is hurting.

MODULES

Module 3: Healing the Past

Regret is simply the “would haves, should haves and could haves”. Especially when our pets can’t speak for themselves to reassure us. In this module, we will look at what your pet means to you, and ways to bring healing for those times when our heads are overrun with judgments and guilt.

Module 4: Creating a new future

It can be easy to isolate when we are grieving. This last module focuses on healing and the importance of reaching out to those who can support you as you learn to move forward in a new way. The power of community is deeply healing and something we can all be a part of in our own way.

Here's just a sample of what you are going to get:

  • Why rituals are important and ways to create new ones
  • How asking for support is easier than you think
  • Why laughter is good medicine, especially in grief
  • Finding ways to give back as a way to honor your pet
  • How to allow yourself to have hopes and dreams again
  • What our pets teach us
  • The importance of cultivating companionship
  • Strategies in accepting what is
  • Learning to keep your heart open even when it hurts
  • Discovering how to cultivate compassion for yourself
  • Mastering the art of change
  • How to trust your own timeline in grief
  • Embracing memories with love
  • Steps to being as kind to yourself as you have been to others
  • How to cultivate patience with yourself while grieving
  • Small steps you can take right now to take better care of yourself
  • Why sleep is so important when we are grieving

You deserve to heal that big heart of yours so you can continue to honor your pet and give your love to yourself and the world.

Claire Chew, M.A.

Pet Loss Educator, Life Transitions Coach,Los Angeles, CA

15 years ago my life looked great on paper. Then my dog Sophie was diagnosed with liver cancer. Her death changed my life. It became the catalyst to heal my own unresolved grief and the beginning of my spiritual journey.

Today, I’ve turned healing my grief into a career of helping others eliminate suffering from their lives. My passion includes transforming losses that are not part of mainstream conversation. Pet loss, miscarriage, pregnancy/baby loss are just some of the “elephants in the room” I shine light onto.

A Message From Claire

My mini manifesto:

I truly believe we all have the capacity to love and receive love, regardless of our past.

You are less broken than you think you are.You are not the sum of your losses.

You are not your stories or challenging experiences.

I believe it is possible to heal and love again. So that you can live the life you were meant to lead.

Today, it is a blessing to serve as a "bridge" between pets and the people who love them. My heart is near and dear to all animals.

Thank you for sharing this program with animal owners going through pet loss. In my work in acupressure for animals, I encounter so many people going through this grief process. It is such a deep feeling of loss and there are so few resources that really help people through the healing. Your program is exactly what people need. It is clear, kind and thorough. It never dismisses the depths of emotion that the user is feeling and gives them truly profound tools for moving through these difficult times. I think one of the hardest things for people is feeling that the people around them don’t understand the intensity of the emotions they are feeling. So many people tell them “It was just a pet! Aren’t you over it yet?” Your program takes them by the hand and leads them through the healing process so that they CAN get to the other side of their grief in simple, thoughtful ways. It is as if you are really with them every day through the process. This is a huge gift and I know it will help so many people with its caring voice and its simple kind exercises and meditations.

—Susan Tenney | Elemental Accupressure—

This journey with your coaching was a great positive experience for me. Some days we worked through some difficult subjects, other days your words just opened up a window and a new way of seeing things. What helped at first was to be able to dedicate a few minutes to me and my pain. I looked forward to your daily emails and was happy to take this personal time to work on my feelings, emotions and thoughts.—Annik Vuffray | Switzerland—
